No. They're thin, smooth Polartec but other materials like silk are great too. The important thing is they're liners. And thin.
No, the Defeets are a bit too thick and grippy to be good liners IMO.
My hands don't get sweaty with the merino Defeats so I wear them whenever I can if there's going to be some work done.

Are the liners windproof?
I'd have thought the DeFeet would be better as a liner: doesn't wearing them over something open up the weave and make them a bit breezy?
