..yea, but check the short legs! It's, like, "lowered".
Beautiful tones in your pics, as always, by the way.
Would this one look nicer with the image cropped from the top left?
No.
Or yes?
Maybe?
I think not.

Hmm.. got me thinking now, I think they are reared specifically for certain cut of meat maybe or something like that. Will ask my mum when I get home as she will know more.
Thanks :-) Only just been getting the hang of the Epson v750 pro and retouching in photoshop.
Maybe?
Hmm, gonna have a play with the crop and see how it goes.

When printing from film, nowadays is it best to get a good digital scan then print, or enlarge from the negative?*
*I have no idea about this but I assume that's what they did in them there olden days

I am selling my razzledog camera and a flashgun and other stuff...

DIY or someone else doing it for you?
I have a Plustek negative scanner / hp printer and a Gnome Master II / Ilford chemicals - there are advantages to each, but I get more satisfaction from 'them there olden day' processes and mostly I prefer the finished print - balanced against time and convenience and not being (quite) as anti-social. In terms of print quality I really couldn't say...
(Opens the can of worms marked 'Best')

Definitely someone else at this point, I've only done four 35mm rolls so far so am new to analogue for sure, but want to print some for a uni exhibition.
-
• #9466
Depends on the time you have. I really don't know which is 'best', but printing using an enlarger is very satisfying, for me at least.
-

Some people keep going on the analogue road (enlarge directly from neg) because of principles, and / or because they appreciate the way it looks.
I'm positive you can fake this nowadays though (make a print look like a "real" enlargement), except for work done on big negatives, enlarged big, by people who really fucking know what they're doing. So long story short: you can archieve great quality with both options.
Scanning gives you athe option of Photoshop of course. -

You might know this already...
Printing for exhibition purposes is a slightly different game. Immediately your audience is further away - several paces rather compared with less than arms length - so bigger is generally better, assuming the image is of a suitable quality.
I'd be inclined to scan, photoshop as required (enlargement and cropping at least) and try some variations on hue tone sharpness etc. Print the variations 5x7 / A5 on whatever printer you have access to and then be critical and selective before having expensive 12x18 / A3 prints made.
It might even be worth doing a bit of reading before scanning - much of the logic regarding digital camera settings applies equally to negative scanning, e.g.
http://photography.about.com/od/developingandprinting/ss/howbigcaniprintmyphotos.htmApologies if I'm suggesting the obvious - you can always go to https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/187128/ and complain about condescending old gits.

No that's really useful, much appreciated!
Some I was vaguely familiar with as I realist the current scans resolutions I have would limit the print to relatively small sizes unless I was willing to have a shitty dpi.
No where would really scan individual negatives would they? Just a whole roll at a time ?
Ancud Chile - Pentax MX (prob Ilford Delta 100) need to double check
Volcan Osorno, Chile - Pentax MX, TMax 100
