Sorry, that was too predictable even by my low standards. :)

It is a pretty great film. Haven't seen it since I was about 18 though so hopefully being old and cynical won't ruin it.
Can probably just shake that off though. -

How many days should I leave my iPhone (which fell in a puddle) in its rice bag before giving up on it or opening it up and trying various things what I read on the internet?
FFS, I should stick to edible apple varieties, and not own expensive Apple electronics that I will ultimately break and not be able to replace.

How many days should I leave
I dropped mine in a toilet in canada once.
Left it in rice, also found lots of those "DO NOT EAT" silicon things which soak up damp.
Left it for 3 days also try under warm lamp.
Came back to life!Still going strong, it's an iphone 4 too! ancient.

It's difficult with iPhones, but dismantle it as much as you can, pop it in the rice bag or, as @mands says, a selection of silica gel sachets, and put it somewhere warm. Airing cupboards are perfect if you have one. 24 hours is a bare minimum, but 72 hours is better. Any more than that and it's unlikely to get any drier.
Whatever you do, don't turn it on when it's damp as it's the water getting into the circuits that kills phones.

Or try one of these:

I keep one in the bike room (because I'm a tart (and we have stupid breezy sash windows)), where I also keep my guitars, trainers and other things I try and hide from my girlfriend...#whipped

I need to get a bike frame in a box picked up from my parents and delivered to an address in France - what's going to be the most affordable, efficient and insured service to use, in the experience of the LFGSS hive mind?
-
• #66065
I did not know that that existed, thanks Amey.
Next q- what is the HxDxW of a bike box?
-
• #66067
about 138x78x20 cm

Parcel Monkey is currently in the lead, at £50.
I reckon the guy is going to get upset when I tell him that he needs to send me £50+insurance to get his frame back, mind.

Talking of bike bags/boxes.
A polo player came over from au with a bike bag that folded up small enough to hang from his saddle and ride with... Before I order one from oz, is there anything like that in the uk?

I have one, it just wasn't in it. Innit.

That's great! Am going to try it again tomorrow. Apparently the chances are lower if device is on when it gets wet.
-
• #66073
Sounds like you're doing the best for it. Let me know if it doesn't work out- Should have a iPhone 4 for sale in the next few days.

^ No way? Really? I'm thinking that would be cheaper than repairing and then in Oct I can get an upgrade anyway...

Thanks!
And now if i wanted to go 50mm wide 29" rims, are there any affordable options? The Surly Rims are quite expensive...
