  • The gap between tyre and seat tube will be tighter come race day.

    Hmm. That's one of those things which needs very careful testing, you have to consider not only the drag on the bike but the power needed to turn the wheel. The closer the tyre is to the seat tube cut out, the harder it is turn the wheel as the air trapped between tyre and tube has an increasing shear gradient.

  • According to that bloke at HED and the other one at Spesh, most of the superbikes shield the rear wheel enough to make it almost irrelevant. Whether or not that includes the T4 above is up to the wind tunnel testers and power meter man to work out.

  • Seems the cut out kosher is all over the place by the leading bike engineers.
