Yes, that's what Paypal are for. Open a dispute through rBay or Paypal before the cut-off (45 days from date of transaction).

You've opened a claim with Paypal, just wait for that to complete.
The seller has until 2nd October to respond and if they don't, you'll get a refund.

Thank you for your help. :) Let's wait and see then!

Listed a bike with "Buy it now" or "Best offer" option. So far I received a few messages, but no offers so far. Do I need to pay the fee, if the item won't sell after the time runs out? I originally thought eBay won't charge more than £75, but turns out it's £250 or 10% if less.
-

Not sure what you mean, but no, you only pay final value fees on sold items. If it's a cash in hand deal you can cancel the transaction afterwards and get your fees refunded as well.

I sold some parts on eBay and posted them out first class last week. The buyer say they still haven't arrived. What's the process for dealing with this? I presume I just have to issue a refund and try and recover my losses from royal mail?
-
• #483
Afraid so - I assume it wasn't a tracked/recorded service?

Grrr ebay.
Hadn't had any issues for a while and in the last week or so I've had 2 non-paying buyers for things I've sold and an item I bought hasn't turned up.
Zero communication from them all so now I have to wait until the 20th for Paypal* to get me my money back and I suppose I have to wait until the non-payment cases are resolved before I can relist them too.
*Claimed through Paypal as eBay wanted me to wait until the expected delivery date had elapsed to start a claim and because the seller hadn't marked the item as dispatched that was coming up as today, ie 12 days after the sale.

I was just browsing and I think this bike looks very nicked.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Condor-Classico-Pista-Track-Single-Speed-Bike-Size-55cm-Turbo-Deda-Izumi-Miche-/381040807468?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item58b7cd4e2c
Big dent where you'd lock the wheel through the downtube. What do you guys think? And what can we do? -

Bought an Inbred. In cunting Earlsfield to pick it up and seller calls and says it's 'missing'. I'm calling bull shite on this one. Time wasting fuck.

Bought a frame off Retrobike, was supposedly sent on Wednesday (now Tuesday) with Parcelforce 48. Didn't turn up Friday so pmed seller on Saturday asking for tracking number, no reply. No sign of it yesterday so pmed again, no reply again. Woke up this morning to a refund and a pm saying seller had been away since Friday and has lost the tracking number so he has refunded as it's obviously lost.
Seem suspicious that refund was so forthcoming? It wasn't much, £70 but if it was me I'd have been looking for another day or so to make sure it didn't turn up.
Most annoying thing is that in the interim I've spent £140 on a set of forks to go with the frame. That's nothing to do with seller of the frame just a pain in the arse!

You got gazumped I reckon.
If he's lost the tracking ref. and the frame has gone AWOL, he's lost his money: I'd be asking you to check with the sorting office/hold on for a couple of days etc., rather than just handing over your money and writing it off...

The forks are due to be delivered today and haven't been yet, I think they are coming ParcelForce too so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the frame magically turns up along with the forks but I really doubt it will.
Its weird though because seller was very chatty and helpful on Tuesday when I had a few questions about the frame and noone else has posted in the thread enquiring about it.
Worst comes to the worst then I'll just have to try and at least get my money back selling the forks back on ebay.

Well, guess what just turned up at my door?!
Delivery guy had some trouble as he said the parcel wasn't on his system and there is a label on it which shows a dispatch date of the 21st, Wednesday.
Not entirely sure what to do now as regards the seller and my refund...

How cynical am I?
-
• #492
Surely you have to send the money back to the seller or risk forever being known as a horrible bastard by all the people that frequent both here and retrobike?
-
• #493
Re-refund, or risk your new frame being blighted by bad vibes...and being known as a horrible bastard!
-
• #494
Hmmm, the plot thickens.
The refund isn't actually in my paypal account yet. Its marked as pending until 3rd Feb.
Definitely not re-refunding until I've actually been refunded.

Fucking annoying that, but not suss: when someone refunds the original transaction, PP drag their heels to earn a buck.
When I've refunded people, I send them the money in a separate transaction to avoid the delay.
-
• #496
Can refunds be cancelled by the refunder though?
I guess I can contact the seller and see if he can cancel the refund instead of me paying again.
-
• #497
Sorry, couldn't tell you. Would save a lot of time and trouble though, so worth an e-mail.
-
• #498
I've contacted the seller to inform them of the situation and see if they can cancel refund.

Fucking annoying that, but not suss: when someone refunds the original

transaction to avoid the delay.Just had this. Bought some pricey carbon TT bars. Bought from the US for delivery to Norway. SO when you take into account Norwegian customs being slow. It was always going to take a while. I waited the standard DHL 5 weeks. Notified the seller that they hadnt turned up, and they refunded me. Brilliant. Especially as I didnt really want the bars anymore, and was going to have to sell them on locally.
But Nothing came into my account. I had an offical looking email, and clicking the transaction on Ebay.com showed it as refunded. But I didnt physically have any Money in my account. After a few days it started to freak me out a bit. Then it turned up. How can sending Money take moments, yet refunds take several days. Twats.

Me again...
Fork I bought on ebay described as,
"Good condition. Not been used much, have been in dry storage for a while. Work fine, very slight stanction wear (pictured) - is not affecting performance, no leaks. All carbon parts intact very few signs of wear."
...actually has pretty deep grooves worn on the left hand leg and after a <2hr ride today have lost +/-30psi from that leg since last night and are pissing green oil from the other (damping and lockout) leg. I've not ridden a suspension fork in several years so fork felt alright to me but a riding buddy who has took a shot and said the fork felt buggerfucked.
Is best practise to message the seller with my issues and see what they suggest or do I just go straight in with an 'item not as described' claim ?
Edit: I had to an item not received claim as they didnt turn up when they should have but turned out Parcel
ForceFarce had left them at the post office but hadn't bothered informing me. When I got the forks I fitted them, took them for a spin round the block where I noticed the legs being quite oily. I closed the not received case and mentioned the oil on the legs, seller never responded.
assistance is needed:

I've purchased a piece of clothing on the 2nd of septembre, the seller "shipped" on the 3rd. No communication since then, no tracking nmber. Yesterday I saw, that the account of the seller has been suspended, he's no longer an active user, and I cannot initiate a case either.
wge4.png
what can i do in this case? The seller had zero communication even before the account has been suspended (he replied wth "ok" for every message I've sent..) I've inquired about shipping-sizing, etc. He always just typed "ok". I have not received a feedback either.
His account is no longer active, and I cannot issue a refund.
Is there any way to get thatlittle amount back?
