ah, good point. have you previously 'purchased' (downloaded, assigned to your apple id) mavericks on a different machine? if so, OSX mavericks will be in your 'purchases' list when you use the app store.

if you don't have it in your history and you're around during the week you could pop over and I'll sign in for you and you can grab it using my account? not really happy giving out login details so doing it without the legwork will involve finding another generous soul a little more local to you (like monsieur chevrons).
