Tarzan has had yet another mishap, today he has broken his rear mech so is out of bikes and is now on his recumbent while his support look for a bike shop. He seems more crash and burn than Steve.
Yesterday he broke the steerer on his Cervelo and crashed, I think that was his third crash since starting. -
• #259
Broke the steerer due to crashing or as a result of?
-
• #260
Not sure, he said it was an old bar in the video, but it looked like the steerer had snapped, my guess was that the stem had been overtightened, but it might have been due to an earlier spill, see day 15 on here

I just noticed that he also broke his bars yesterday on a different bike. -

Who's doing his wrenching? Sounds like he's hired LFGSS mechanics.
"derailleur snapped"
I've broken cable bolts but to snap a derrailer?
Someone lend them a torque wrench!

Doesn't matter who's from where, they are both doing some epic stuff, both fellow cyclists on a mission - may the best man win within the rules and may they both complete the year safely.

Cervelo is just another maple syrup company.

No way, man. Americans are the last minority it's ok for us to dislike.

Hehe, minority :-)
Nice interview with Hoppo, with some insight on his views for the outcome...

Dunno if this has been posted, but it's useful for comparison.

I'm following Tarzan on facebook, and I'm growing to like him based on his little video updates. Seems like a pretty nice chap. Good luck Tarzan!
And better luck Steve (obvs.)!

So he climbed Everest five times at a gradient of just over .005. The man knows how to not only keep his heart rate flat.
Precisely, the longer you hold back from posting it, the faster I get. :)
