Not so bad in £ since Euro economy is down the toilet. Did have to take a leap of faith with the sizing, which thankfully was correct. Will field test them tonight, but can report that I held my very hot lunch for 5 minutes from the shop to my desk and the heat did not get in, so the space grade insulation seems to work.

today over an hour of riding in the city in windy -6°c which was supposed to feel like -13°c
ambient citys kept my hands warm and looking good -

Have you tried them yet? I had a look at them today and thought they looked good but my suspicious mind was wondering why they were reduced so much

Have you tried them yet?
Yep! Rode them the 10 mile commute today. Due to the shape I found them a little awkward at first but for the first time ever I had mildly clammy hands after 1hr in ~1°C. I'm very happy with them.

Close. Working out stiffness properties. Well spotted! What you dont see is all the crossing out behind the gloves.

Fanks alot. Fancy adding these to the armoury.

As a note. If I wear gabba and arm warmers my hands are cold. My arms are cold.
If it's 0 or less I wear a polartec jacket with arms and long sleave merino base layer. This keep my arms warm and hands warm.
I'd try a warmer jacket if I were you.

Since I finally feel that the fingertips get a bit chilly with just my Defeet Merino's, I thought I'll try the Phew Lobster to stick on the outside and see if that sorts it.

I had perfectly warm hands in -3°C this morning in the SealSkinz lobsters :)

Warm toastie hands in Spesh sub zero lobsters, without the fleecy liner gloves, these can deal with some serious cold. And a bargain at my lbs for £25!

I did think this so I rode in once with my transfer jacket on, leading to full boil in a bag effect, but still numbness.
But to report back, operation STURMFIST is a success. Would buy again. Thread closed.

Just do it yo. If you fancy having a look at mine, they are with me in Euston today.
-
• #1822
Hovis, how long did you wear them for and what was the mileage you covered?
-
• #1823
Only 45 minutes over 8 miles of stop start commute. But that's normally enough to freeze my finger tips. Will be doing about 20 miles tomorrow and a 40ish miler on sunday but forecast is a toasty 3-6deg so not really a fair test.

Where's the fun in that?
No more games. Tonight I dominate the weather.
