Rauler

If this build is for looks the rauler wins no question

DAMN love that shurbb, would love to have your problem.. they both look great
-

Defo Rauler on looks, even before I spotted the panto'd stem.

Thanks for all the input chaps - I am having real difficulty making a decision !

I'd have the Cliff Shrubb all day long, but I'm sure @BigH could be interested in taking it off your hands.... #matchingbikes #spendingotherpeoplesmoney

@Si46 So you won the shrubb.. Im biased and would choose the shrubb purely because I know it would make a mean tt bike, corima disc and 4spoke front with all black parts? but thats just me ;-)
I literally just bought a white lo pro before xmas, wishbone, curvy seat stay etc. so no space but im sure someone on here would take it if you decide to sell it for the price you won it for? I bid on it, but knew it wouldn't be enough. -

Personally i'd go for the Cliff Shrubb because he's built some cool stuff and it had shot in seat stays so its going to be so much more aerodynamic... ha ha ha.

Internal routing on nds too for looks and check out the fillet brazing and bb drilling-
Mmm..

IMO: straight TT and curved ST > curved TT and curved ST (aesthetically)

I'd happily take whichever one you don't decide to keep off your hands!

Thanks everyone for the input - I'm kinda favouring the Shrubb - so will prob build with Dura Ace as bits turn up and sell the Rauler.

It also depends on what you want to do on it - a 26" is a much comfier ride than a 24", and 24" can be pretty scary in traffic on the bullhorns!
That Cliff Shrubb is lovely though :)

The Shrubb.
It looks rad and lopros shouldn't be practical.

I've ridden 26 and 24 and both are surpisingly quick. I used the Rauler on my usual 32mile flatish course and it was a full 2.1 mph average better than my usual road bike.
I think the Shrubb prob just has the novelty effect at the mo as I just got it. -

BigH
Well I'm only keeping the Shrubb -it has something about it I like so now just gather some Dura Ace parts etc for the Spring -no rush as finances a bit tight at mo.
Yes I did collect -from a very nice guy -it was his father's and as well as getting date of manufacture for me he is getting a pic of his father on it (I like archive stuff like that)
Originally had Sante single Chainset and it had Sante levers on when I picked it up but as I said it will be all Dura Ace except will keep Headset and Omas Titanium BB.
So Rauler gone to Ebay (to get Italian coverage etc).
Cheers

First world problems eh! Looking forward to seeing the shrub built up
Out of interest, what were the bars on the rauler and what did you do with them?
-
• #22
Hi Zatchmo
They were ITM Citte Di Bassano in black and pretty mint - The Shrubb has Citte di Bassano as well but silver-grey. These are my favourite bars ever - I spent literally years looking for some and only found some on these 2 bikes! My black ones are on Ebay for £85 plus post (I've missed listings for much more than that) . If you wanted them £50 collected. -
• #23
Si thats great! What year was it? would help me date mine too :-) Ill have you know that my Shrubb also came with the same ITM bars as yours, same headset and bb. I would guess that these were the standard setup for his frames built up maybe.
Post some more photos of the shrubb when you get a chance plz

BigH,
The seller isn't seeing his dad till weekend. As soon as I have some info I'll let you know. I'll try to get some more pics up later. I've got a rear wheel in but may not take 8 speed without re-dishing.
Im actually going to build with lightness ahead of aero as it is very light to start with.
If you look online several pics of Shrubbs have the Citte di Bassanos - I hunted for ages for a pair for the Bill Nickson and other bikes-then found out Columbus kl has max rider weight far below mine and had to part with it.

Thanks Si. I was hoping they'd be LA84's...saying that, I was already watching your bars on eBay! I'll send you a PM
Hi,
So it's decided - the Shrubb is the one.
Now I will wait till the right bits come up at the right prices and not do what I normally do which is to rush into the build. - I certainly don't want to use this till all the salt has washed away.
I reckon Dura Ace Chainset and brakes prob Rolls Saddle.
