If you want chunky then you might think about some of the workwear orientated brands, Whites, Wesco maybe Viberg (overpriced) or maybe Lonewolf (Japan). There are few other brands check the denim forums for obsessive discussions on style/brand merit. Your choices for trying them on in the UK is limited though. Most, except Viberg (overpriced) come in cheaper than Trickers, Alden' etc... The Trickers logger is not an especially chunky boot btw and is a lot lighter in weight than the equivalent brogue.
