The aggressive one? Is it not possible that they were both varying degrees of aggressive? I don't think I've said the driver wasn't aggressive.
-
• #5503
it was pretty poor overtaking to go past the cyclist and to immediately slow down and come back in, especially when he knew the cyclist was there
-
• #5504
Yeah, I thought the landscraper van was a little impatient in overtaking and then the immediate slow down. Thing is, many of us would have slowed too, having seen the bin lorry turning and avoiding any undertake and resultant conflict.
Landscape van driver does deserve to have a small, unreachable rock in his shoe for at least a year though.

I've been wondering about this, and I think the moral thing to do would be to cut off the van drivers hands.

He's turned up at the cop shop, apparently. The driver, that is.

Today MailOnline can reveal that the driver has handed himself into police but the cyclist is yet to be traced.

Cyclist to lose Go-Pro

Road CC are saying both driver and rider have spoken to the Police.
The rider doesn't wish to press charges.

The rider doesn't wish to press charges.
How strange.
-
• #5512
Can I press charges on his behalf?
-
• #5513
Can we charge the cyclist for wasting our time?
-
• #5514
Wot I reckon is
there's a media shit storm, Mr Statham is now infamous worldwide, the cyclist may have decided he doesn't want the same level of notoriety.
-
• #5515
Typical Go Pro fuckwit behaviour. Getting the footage on youtube asap is far more important than a potential prosecution.

99.9% likelihood of this theory being correct IMO
Who the fuck wants the daily mirror et al at your door trying to get you to say things that make you sound like a babykiller so they can run stories implying Statham-a-like was justified in beating you up after side-swiping you?
-
• #5517
My guess would be he posted it on internetz in order to get some shit directed at the cross landscaping man, which seems to have worked nicely.
Bicyclist may well think that's justice enough, seeing as he started the altercation.

Giving evidence Mr Driver, 53, from Goole, West Yorkshire, who had denied the charge, said he had been unaware that he had struck Mrs Pinhamy.
He said he was wrong to have left the scene but went on: “I do not think I could have done anything different when I took the junction.”

Even more difficult to understand reading this

Absolutely shocking. I would quite happily see him beaten in the street and left there as it seems that's what he considered acceptable. Just crazy and must be terrible for the family.

“The defendant stopped nearby, walked back to where Mrs Pinhamy lay dying. He then walked back to his lorry, unloaded his delivery and carried on with his day.
That is about as callous as you can get. As scandalous as it is tragic.

“The defendant stopped nearby, walked back to where Mrs Pinhamy lay dying. He then walked back to his lorry, unloaded his delivery and carried on with his day.“
Hugh O’Brien Quinn, prosecuting, told Birmingham Crown that Driver later phoned a colleague and told him that there had been an accident – somebody had been knocked off their bike and he did not know whether he had run them over.Holy fucking shit. Even assuming that you don't think you've hit somebody, to have a quick look at the scene, and then just go back to your work leaving them there dying in the road without even calling an ambulance is callousness of a depth that I can't even begin to comprehend. Is he a sociopath?
-
• #5523
How on earth can he have been cleared? He pulls out, runs her over, checks on her, leaves her dying in the road, then carries on as normal. What an utter shambles of a justice system.
-
• #5524
Especially since from the itv synopsis the judge seemed to be easing the jury towards prosecution.
Mebbe the Dutch got the legal system right as well as the bike lanes. Juries are weird.
-
• #5525
Juries are drivers.
Yeah, the cyclist was the aggressive one. Good grief.
