  • Terry would've ruined it with extraneous teapots on heads...

  • '71 was pretty good

  • I said that 2 months ago :)

  • The teapot thing? ;)

  • Wick, ya wally!
    watched it again last night.

  • Such an outrageous movie, classic Keanu...

  • I thought John Wick was based on a book, game, comic or something that had passed me by.

It's like the best game you've never played. I hope they make more.

And I thought The Matrix was shit.

  • LOL. American Sniper is up for Best Pic at the Academy Awards.

    #merca

  • I generally ignore Oscars etc, but the omission of The Lego Movie from Best Animation and Gyllenhaal for best actor in Nightcrawler are astounding. Also in no way should The Grand Budapest Hotel have as many nominations as it does. Best picture for me would be Boyhood.

    So excited for Whiplash tomorrow.

  • Oblivion. Thought it was shaping up to be OK until Morgan Freeman turned up halfway through.

  • Wild is as good as people are saying.

I was expecting a great performance from Reese's pieces. It's her project 100% but I wasn't expecting it to be so beautifully made.

Hollywood making properly good films is now a thing.

  • Looks pretty good, from the people who brought you District 9.

  • blergh. yeah we get it, you're from sarf efrica, land of allegories. you've just remade short circuit with rubbish accents! and can someone explain the appeal of die antwoord?

more importantly - who would win in a fight between john wick and lee van cleef?

  • You mean 2014 Keanu vs 2014 Lee Van Cleef?

Van Cleef. I reckon he would kill two men with a pencil.

  • He's a cartoonist?

  • Holy fuck Whiplash is intense

  • Went to see birdman, it was great.

  • Looks pretty good, from the people who brought you District 9.

  • John Wick is about the coolest film I've seen in ages. Watched it last night and totally enjoyed it. It works because it so openly knows it's a ridiculous film. Felt like an action film from the 80's. Great.
I also think the clever bit was the cute dog - after that my wife was happy to watch the outrageous violence.

Also, best use of integrated subtitles.

  • Oh yeah, going to see Whiplash at the Rio tonight - hope the sound is ok.

  • Inherent Vice re-run...

So far I'm just about keeping track.

It feels less like a bong hit and more like a story this time.

  • the immitation game. downton abbey meets the big bang theory.

    hokey.

  • I'll give American Sniper 4/10.

Really one dimensional. Would have been better as a gung ho Rambo flick.

Bradley Cooper is terrible. Found his level in the Hangover/A Team, out of his depth in American Hustle. He's not bad in Place Beyond the Pines I suppose.

    About the watch Imitation Game.

  • Prepare to have your intelligence insulted.

  • I liked American Sniper, well made and acted. You do have to suspend what you know about the Iraq war and realise it's filmed from his point of view, not an unbiased overview.
