Good plan.
Any chance of a reminder of the design?

And just to go right back to the beginning of the thread...
Anyone can get one of these Jerseys? We don't have to wear them? It's all just a nice thing?
-
• #2205
Yes.
But if you're not a club member and you buy one, then the club thanks you... as you are contributing to the club finances.
The club is very informal, you can go and put LFGSS CC down on British Cycling if you wish, or join BC using a club discount and get all of the other member benefits. But because the club is so informal, it doesn't matter if you're not a BC member, you can still be part of the club per se as the club is independent of BC and just affiliated to it (along with Cycling Time Trials).
So you can buy a jersey, call yourself a club member, and yet not be a BC member or CTT racer, etc... just a person who wants to show support for the club and own a nice jersey.

Is anybody actually a member of lfgss.cc yet? Isn't there supposed to be a membership form and a register of members held by the club?
-
• #2207
Does anybody know the length of those Milltag jerseys. I like a quality item of clothing as much as the next oddly proportioned giant, but it's be reassuring to know that I could actually wear the thing and listing 'height' as a measurement is of very little use :-/

Details schmetails.
Besides, what is a club member? There is nothing in the model constitution as supplied by BC for use by CASC entities that specifies that membership is made of a spreadsheet of names and addresses, that we need a register of members, or anything. The only requirements are about membership not excluding anyone for inequality reasons, etc and that the club can deny membership in certain circumstances.
It seems to be a falsehood that a club must maintain an up to date register of members, but I can see how clubs that operate with a membership fee cannot do so without such a register.
Shopify solves all anyway though... selling the jerseys using their store means we have a list of members, and I'll add a zero priced entry to enable people to assert membership (unrelated to BC or CTT). This was my not-so-secret plan last year to use Shopify as a membership management tool as people tend to keep their details up to date when it involves payments and shipping things to them.

Sizing info that we have is in the PDF attached to: http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/234743/?offset=2175#12038189
I'll ask Milltag if they also have the length of the jerseys.

British Cycling discount code is NEWCMRA to get £20 off British Cycling membership... Don't think that's been stickied anywhere yet.
-
• #2211
If you're an expired BC member, how long ago would that need to be for the NEWCMRA discount to be valid?

I'll ask Milltag if they also have the length of the jerseys.
Much appreciated!

Answered:
We don’t have those dimensions to hand but can measure them up for you. But, if you look at the size chart you’ll see
that it’s a fairly standard size curve. Problem is, not all cyclists are standard, in fact we get a few requests for M size
chests for XXL (6’3”+) length jerseys, the wiggins as we call it. The crucial dimensions is the chest size as this affects
the comfort and fit. Length is more of a personal thing - pro kit is always short so it doesn’t bunch up at the front when
in position on the bike. I’m no pro but I wear a medium in our kit even though i’m an XL by height according to the chart. The good news is we can accommodate edge sizes, but the issue is we can’t offer it to everyone as it becomes a nightmare,
we’ll be inundated with people wanting custom sizing in the chest, arms etc. What I suggest is we maybe create a
couple of ‘special’ sizes, eg M with 30mm extra length, and L with 30mm extra length to cover these cases.I'll basically add these extras as options to the pre-order form... so that if you are extremely tall and yet slim, order according to your chest size and opt to have the extra length.
The vast majority of people won't need this, as if they do then the jersey will always bunch up in the front.
But for the outliers, you'll have an option.

That sounds good. Being 6'7", I specifically need to know if the XXL ( club fit ) will be long enough. Even the nicest jerseys are awful if they pull up every time you lift your arms.

So will the pro jersey rival the rapha pro team you reckon? May have to go for that. Would love my name on that too.
Cue the inevitable constant 'what size jersey' questions....

I'll try, but it won't be easy!

keep on eye on the dark non-petrol blue, it's a bit blueier (navy) and less grayish than intended (at least on this screen).

It seems to be a falsehood that a club must maintain an up to date register of members
For CTT open events, it's pretty handy if your club can confirm to the organiser that you are a member, since that is the only essential qulification for entry. Not many people check, but stuff like indemnity insurance is contingent on valid membership of an affiliated club, so it's usually only when things go horribly wrong that the question is asked. I wouldn't want anybody to find out after they've hit a stray pedestrian in a time trial that your fast-and-loose attitude to club membership left them personally liable.
Less importantly, there are rules and regulations covering membership in respect of team awards and team.time trials, it would be a pisser for somebody to lose out on a team prize because a lesser rider submitted a successful protest based on the club's inability to confirm that all the members of team lfgss.cc were really first claim members of the club.
