Play around with the pressure, follow @miro_o's advice of dropping 5psi each time until it start to feel idea (absorb enough vibration, but not low enough to feel squirmy).
Would the wider tyre and a certain tyre pressure help lessen the risk of the rim going out of true if I hit little holes etc? With my size this can sometimes be an annoying issue. I know this mainly depends on other factors, but just curious. Bike shops always told me to keep the tyre pressure up, and if you're heavier that's also true. Just wondering.
