FYI - 7VEN has met with Milltag this morning, things are moving along.
We'll post a proper update very soon. -

Any thoughts on sorting some summer caps? I think there was a plan to sell caps through the cc to raise funds...

Happy to coordinate with the jerseys.
There seems to be a certain amount of sanctity around the LFGSS caps though. Anyone got one they can lend me to get a design made? Pm me if you do. -

So the big question is... are these prices acceptable to people:
£75 for a standard jersey
£85 for a pro jerseyMy thinking right now is that these prices are too high and we should consider other suppliers. As much as I love the Milltag jerseys (the quality, better materials, great detailing, etc), I find it hard to justify those price tags for club kit as I am well aware that not everyone in the club is loaded.
Swift feedback please.

I would say that they are at the top of what I would want to pay, but would be happy to commit at that price.
-
• #2135
Yes, too pricey: I was expecting +/- £60.
What is the difference between "standard" and "pro"?
-
• #2136
Mostly cut I think, @7VEN will be able to clarify.

Velotec did our club kit. £40 for a standard jersey and £50 for an aero one. Been very happy with my standard jersey.
-
• #2138
We still hope to be able to produce club kit that people choose to wear because it both looks great, and is great to wear.
Velotec aren't bad, but Milltag's jersey is of a noticeably better quality. The question is really whether people find the prices above to be acceptable... if not, would you prefer a compromise on quality, and what price point would people be comfortable with?
-
• #2139
I'd prefer £50, but £75 doesn't sound outrageous...
-
• #2141
I'd hope it's better quality for almost double the price. We had Endura before Velotec and the Velotec stuff is both cheaper and significantly better quality. New team uses IMPSport, the benefit of which is no minimum order quantity which is good for things like skinsuits.
Club kit should be affordable for all members, as ideally you want everyone to be wearing it. I think more people would rather pay significantly less for their jersey for a slight drop in quality.

@Velocio did you read Pete's PM?
Yes, he's working on this, but ultimately I'm the club chairman and I need to make sure the club is funded from jersey sales.
If the increased price leads to fewer sales, and therefore lower revenue to the club then the club is at risk.
Pete is focusing on the jerseys, but I have to step back and think of the big picture of the club and the club members, as well as the jerseys.
My personal view remains the same: I would prefer higher quality over most competitive price. But I realise this is my view, and my view isn't always aligned with others... hence my asking for feedback on pricing before the club commits to it and Pete takes over everything else.

Yes, too pricey for me. I'll take a potato sack in club colours!
In all seriousness, I'm probably looking to spend around £50 and I'm really not fussy about premium quality fabrics. It's going to get worn 2-3 times a month for track league if I get accredited in time, then I'll probably fall off and make holes in it.
I appreciate I'm not necessarily the target market for these though, and just having a registered club to ride under is great. If we do stick with higher priced garments maybe we could have a couple of loaner shirts for racing? Maybe a HH and a LVV regular could take charge of sending / receiving?
-
• #2144
£75? Fuck me. They don't even do a skinsuit option, which is what I'd want for track racing.
You can get comparable quality and a much better price point on Alibaba, if you put a bit of time into research and emailing suppliers.
Champsys is also better value for money and I've heard good things about their kit.
-
• #2145
Little on the high side, but probably wouldn't mind paying that if the quality is that great.

Ewwwwww.

Why not both? If the design is standardised you can offer a cheaper polyester jersey for £40-45 from one of the larger scale manufacturers and have the nice £85-90 Milltag one for those with more disposable income.
Any plans for bibs/skinsuits? Are they something Milltag can produce? Would have thought most of the trackies/road racers/testers would want a speed onesie.

Endura, vermarc. Bioracer. There are loads of companies all vying for our business now. You really should hit the 45 pound per jersey and it will not fall apart after 1 wash.

Wasn't there 250+ names on that list? Easy to only listen to the more vocal forum members who are happy to spend more on their kit, but I suspect that the majority who had their names on that list would be put off by a £75 jersey.

I would prefer a more premium offering, but can appreciate that most members won't want to fork out 80 quid for a club jersey. Shame Milltag don't do a cheaper version so you could get the best of both.
Out of interest, is there an off the shelf version of this "pro" milltag jersey I could have a look at somewhere?
