nice first half, markovic is beginning to get a bit of confidence and showing what he can do
due to the gerrard tightness at half time they changed the defence, the midfield and the attack with one substitution and we lost our rhythm a bit in the second halfone worry emre can kind of disappeared after half time and seemed to have a bit of the ballotelli in him ( laziness / lack of urgency ) once he was moved into his preferred midfield position albeit a bit wider than he might like

That's the spirit.
Great day of results today. Can't decide whether it's a good time to play Forest or not next weekend. They are really hitting relegation form now, but the Brian Clough trophy might inspire them to something.

Mark Noble ought to be skinned alive and buggered.

Rip Junior Malanda. Died in a car crash today. He was shaping up to be yet another terrific Belgian player and at 20 has died horridly short of years.

It's turning into the P45 trophy for us. Don't see any reason why this is going to change. Two wins in twenty is horrific form even by Paul Jewell's standards.

Apparently Tim Sherood and Roy Keane were at the game today. We're doomed.

I think Derby will walk over us next week, the whole squad seem to have lost all confidence and have no understanding of what the plan is. The last time I saw us playing this bad was Mugson which were dark days indeed.
I had concerns about Pearce but never imagined it would be this bad. -

Don't worry, you won the league back in August. Remember? There's always that.

Modern football news
Russia: Police investigating after a 15-year-old Zenit youth team keeper crashed his new £140,000 Aston Martin. Local media quoted the boy saying he still had enough money to buy “a plane or a Lamborghini”. His coach told the press: “At this age, children’s brains are small.”

Watched yesterdays game with @jonny and @skoota at the Effra, good match only bad ting about it was the result. Eriksen should have done better with his first half chance, ball was behind him, went for power and placement, when placement would have been enough, but we didn't create enough. Kane's goal came from nothing and even though we'd been dominating the possession early on, it was a case of playing passes in our own half.
Stambouli penalty apart was good, driven, energetic but a bit slapdash, dembele should still be further forward, no point in playing tippy tappy stuff with the centre halves, push on and use your skill in the opposition's half.
Palace were worth the win, and though we looked up for it early doors, they wanted the win more, Pardew first home game and all that. Emotion pulled them through, they had the better chances and but for lloris they could easily have been a goal up before half time, and towards the end, as we went lookign for the equalizer, made it a more lopsided scoreline.
Chadli got into some good positions, Townsend needs to be more combative when he loses the ball and chase them down, Rose still feels like a liability in defense switches off too often, and loses his man, I miss Verts runs from the back, he's less of a swashbuckler this season. Fazio's still got room for improvement, but his positioning is good, strong in the air and seems to read the game well.
So in a nutshell, same old spurs, hit the highs with the win over chelsea, slip back with the draw against burnley and then don't do enough against palace and lose. One step forward, two back.

Barcelona dominated first half. Simeone's team have looked to play far too defensively first half and looked impotent - wonder if we'll be seeing Nando...

Went to watch Dulwich Hamlet yesterday, could they be the most gentrified team in non-league football? They play nice football though.

quinoa and quail sandwiches ? lots of barbours and labradors
i hope we are just trying to destabilise aston villa before our mid table clash this weekend, by saying we want both benteke and delph
I said generally, not 10 minutes from time when we're down at home. I saw Pique up front for Barca when they were losing under Guardiola.
Do keep up the gloating though - I might be able to use it in May!
