  • Eh, nothing.

Can't a person have two fixehs...

    :P

If it ever goes, on LFGSS first of course.

  • Well, if you ever do decide the TT is too long hit me up.

Have as many bikes as you like, moar fixehs!

  • It's 49x53 though and the steerer is cut...so you have to like it low :)

  • A 109 width BB ISO square taper is rare as hen's teeth it seems. Dura Ace seems to be all English threaded too.

    Campagnolo 111mm BB will do.

  • Nitto Pearl on order, eying up chainrings.

@edscoble do you know any good gumwall tires that are tough? I've Conti Gatorskin on the Gazelle, these hold up well and they're fast enough for me.

Used to have Schwalbe Panaracer (punctures in no time) and the new Panasonic line (used to be tourguard) isn't as good...two punctures in no time, whereas the old one I only had one ever on a shard of metal.

  • Panaracer Pasela.

I know I know, it's the same as your old tyres, you must have gotten real unlucky to get punctures on those tyres, as they're the best gumwall for the money, I've ridden on them as well as the GF, and my ex colleague, including forumeager such as @spotter tour on them.

Puncture happen, it doesn't mean it's the tyres fault, I get 3 puncture in a row within 1 weeks, yet never got it again for 14 months straight, both on the same tyres.

  • I've used them for about 4 years now, had 3 punctures.

  • Strange...perhaps the Belfast glass has been upgraded?

    Tx!

  • Sugino 75 chainring ordered (used on e-bay). Getting there...

  • Chainring fell through, seller couldn't find it. So eying up a Sugino Cubic one, but that means getting stung with customs. Unless they're willing to post as Gift which is against e-bay rules.

Order Panaracer Pasela gumwalls. Don't youse be saying I don't listen.

  • Sugino Gran Mighty + Nitto Pearl.

Waiting for tyres, handlebars, miche cog, chainring...and still need to fix back wheel.

Got a cheap n cheerful seatpost for now, there's not too many use Nitto coming up.

  • Mr Balk is coming along. I derped and got the wrong tire size, so need to sort that.

I'm thinking Nitto Jaguar seatpost with this.
Or go plainer with Nitto S65 + Cinelli XA stem.

I do not like that headset. It asks for a lot of attention...but 39 stack height headsets are very rare. If you spot any let me know!

  • So proud :)

Have a couple of non matching DA rings if they're worth anything to you?

  • This is amazing

  • He/she/it is lovely but will be too big :/

My current one is 49*53...that's probably 50*54 (don't ask they may em low n long) I have a short upper body...

  • ^_^

I'm learning. Ehm, lol, just bought a NJS 50T ring. But it can't hurt to have a smaller one too...do you have a 46 or thereabouts?

Need crankbolts too, the Miche ones must be road, they're too narrow :/

  • Hmmm I have a midnight blue DA 7600 in 45T but it's stuck on a chainset.

If I can remove it then you're welcome to it cheap.

Edit: these bolts are good but I never realised how expensive they were.

  • Yeah I was just going to get some Stronglight ones, Stronglight seems to be sturdy enough. Le Manfriend may have some in his parts box but he's not sure.

I mean, it's a set of bolts. As long as they're sturdy, don't shear, threads don't strip like it's nothing...

Still have to do the rear wheel, if there's extremely foul language coming from Belfast this weekend that's me trying to pull out the old bearings :P
(got a bearing extractor for the job, but still...)

  • ...soon.

Wheel fixed, cog stuck. Off in a vice tonight.
I have a seatpost + selle SMP as temporaries until I get a Nitto Seatpost + Romin (I must have a cutout to be comfortable...)

The HT angle looks very similar to the Gazelle, but it's higher and the TT is shorter. So I can sit on the drops more easily I'd say, in town on the Gazelle drops are a little too low to look behind.

Going to be Nitto B105. I got another Nitto pearl stem (in 25.4) which is cheaper than new Soma HWYs. ;)

  • You learn something new every day...

...today I learned the HT is only reamed so far, so stem can't be slammed & Strong light bolts are too long for sugino gran mighty + ring.

    Sigh...
Its possible to get it reamed locally I'd say & I can buy new bolts but that and the stuck cog its a bit annoying

Edit: It seems in small frames the butting can stop a very slammed stem.

  • Mr Balk on his/its first long ride.

And yes, Sugino cranks are stiffer and hence beterrrerererer than old Miche stuff. I can't judge new Miche kit tho.

So now I've a track frame with a CX fit as stem won't go in deeper. Ah well, I'm comfy and it's a joy to cycle :)
