  • Sorry boys, can't do this Friday, hopefully catch you all at the next one. Have fun!

  • Damn! We'll have to arrange another soon

  • Looking forward to tonight, especially with the projected turn out - here's hoping there aren't many forum flakes!

  • I'll be there...I need a pint or three after riding 40 miles with someone far fitter than me today!

  • "crosses fingers"

  • Soooo... 7?

I might be able to make 7:30. Hopefully see you there chaps

  • Well, that made a change for a Norwich Beers. People actually turned up! Nice to meet those of you that I didnt know already :-)

  • And you! It was a good turn out for a change

  • Yeah agreed., goos times all round. Would be nice if we could go somewhere where beer people are allowed to sit with spirit people next time though...

  • It's a bit of a strange place really isn't it, you kind of feel like you're loitering in the downstairs bit!

I ended up drinking Espresso Martinis in Aroma with Phildabeast which was enjoyable but an even weirder atmosphere in that place!!

  • Ah balls, forgot about this :/ Sorry guys, by the sounds of it you had a good night though!

  • @hudsoncjnr What's it like? I like the idea of a coffee shop that's open in the late hours as an alternative to having to drink drink, but is it as segregated as Matt suggested?

  • It does have an upstairs but we just stayed downstairs as it wasn't very busy

Nice idea, but could be executed better - the DH would be ideal for doing the idea well as it's got more space etc, could have live band / music etc

    Drinks were lovely mind

  • Since beers are a few and far between effort, which is fine because bearing in mind how much places like the Mash Tun cost; I for one cannot afford to do it often :)

I wouldn't mind, however, meeting up for coffee on a more regular basis. Is there a particular time any of you frequent the DH?

  • Social rides leave from the Dandy most Sunday mornings (10ish) @prevailrob so, not only would I encourage you to come along for a pootle, but we also finish at the shop around midday and usually hang around for coffee/cake. As well as those times, @hudsoncjnr is in the shop daily!

  • Yeah, I keep meaning to make one of the Dandy rides. I'm normally out quite early on a Sunday though. I might make an exception one of these weeks and join you guys. In fact I might try and get my fix back on the road and bring that.

  • Yeah you should do, it's good fun - we never go that far at too great a pace, so perfectly suited for a chilled Sunday morning when mileage isn't key. I've been on all but two of them over the past nine months, and have ridden fixed every time with no problems.

  • This Sundays ride is at 9am

And not every day Alex, but most

  • I rarely get to dandy now but when I do it's typically Friday mornings

  • I wish they would do some rides that weren't on a Sunday, I start work at 12. Do they do some rides in evenings come lighter evenings?

  • @hundsoncjnr 9am! Madness!

@bengreen We started doing them on Sunday evenings, leaving the shop about 17.00 to get to the Plasterers for 19.00, but it got too treacherous leaving in the dark when people weren't prepared. I imagine we'll go back to that arrangement come Spring though, although I do prefer getting out in the morning.

  • Dang, I will still be at work haha! Ah perhaps on a day off!

  • Ditto to the morning rides, much preferable to me...can then add an evening ride in the week during Spring / Summer!

9am is far better as far as I'm concerned, allows more time for cake and I get to be home earlier / ride further before lunch!

  • @jdp and me rode down to Reedham to a pub near the ferry one summer evening a couple of years ago. Really pleasant. We should do one of those when the nights draw out.
