Nope - Aguero has constant fit ness problems, and whilst our ideal side is Aguero up front supported by Silva/Nasri/Toure/Milner, we need alternatives against many sides. He'll be up the pecking order ahead of Dzeko and Jovetic I reckon.

My point really is that the guy could be a star - he looks like Drogba in his pomp. He'll never amount to anything playing second fiddle to aguero... Man city is just a revolving door for strikers

Yep, Oldham's Chairman has reportedly stepped down following threats against his family.

Huh, Aguero is in his 4th season, dzeko his fifth and Jovetic his 2nd.
Negredo left because his family couldn't settle in Manchester.
Others we've had lately are Balotelli - nuff sed.

Ched's now apologised and condemned the attacks and threats to the woman he raped on social media, such as his own website.

@cornelius_blackfoot have you read anything in the Grauniad about Raúl Albentosa? Supposedly we've about to snap him up for €600k, but that seems cheap with all the apparent hype surrounding him.
"Best player in a surprisingly good Eibar side", I've heard mentioned. I've not watched any La Liga this season, is he any good?

you'd be better off asking @Tenderloin or @jaw, or even @Prole. for euro insight and knowledge on up and coming players in europe...

Why, because you're too English only English to do that or just because you're too cool?

I've seen him play maybe 4 times this season - but I think Eibar lost all those games other than the draw with Villareal (which he was very good in). I'm not going to be able to give you that much on him that Whoscored won't.
He's a big guy and is strong in the air, decent feet and good distribution though Eibar are a pretty direct team for Spain - he should do well in the Championship. He's been their best defender statistically this season - £600k seems a little pricey for a defender, with only 14 games of top flight football and who was a free agent in 2nd tier football 18 months ago but he is young I guess

Cheers. From the Youtube scouting I've done in the last 10-15 minutes he looks pretty good, but those are highlight reels.
Distribution and height are probably the attributes McClaren is looking for in a defender. We like to try and play the ball from the back and some of his clips show a decent passing range from him. We're probably also buying with a view to him being good enough for the Prem. That is our goal this season and our current defenders are decent enough at this level.

Yes I agree with this. He should be coming to Liverpool>Good one. Valdes has just gone to manu to sit on their bench. We still have migs and an injured jones....
For the money we spent in the summer Shaqiri has just gone for about £12M. -

Brenda says Liverpool need a plan post Gerrard. I'd suggest he focuses on the plan for this year...
-
• #113916
Isn't the plan the same every year, i.e. get them back to where they belong?
So a mid-table finish again.

God willing.
