• Well, it's a bit like paintjobs, or other things which are labourious but people expect to be cheap - you get what you pay for etc. But if the shop don't seem to know what the price for a wheelbuild actually is, or if it'll 'go together ok', then I'd choose another shop. Seems they may not build a lot of wheels.

  • Agreed but I had circa £twenty-something in mind, being as it's a front and I'm in London's famous Suffolk.

    The last wheels I had built were from DCR and he just builds wheels, so I certainly wasn't expecting a general LBS to be more expensive.

    TBH there isn't much choice around here if you're not OTP, but for that money I might as well post my wheels to get built, or get a stand: what's the worst that can happen...
