Good point. The overhang is about 2mm on the nds and 4mm on the ds, which seems... odd.
Hacksawed it in the end with a bit of filing and the nut trick to finish it off. Don't know why I bothered - all the hire bikes have exactly the same lop-sided overhang. Must be a miche thing.
