• I am pretty sure the answer to this is no, but asking because someone normally knows better than me.

I want some high flange track hubs with 20/24 or 24/28 drilling and cup and cone bearings.

I can't find new hubs that meet this spec can, anyone think of some?

  • Easier to service at home. Getting cartridges into hubs without deforming them can be daunting for people who've not had much practice.

  • Well, its a bit of an abstraction but all cartridge bearing track hubs seem fundamentally the same to me. CNCed shell, with press fit bearings and an axle. So my take is that most of the price difference between PW hubs and novatec hubs represents PW's value as a positional good. The sensible part of my brain rejects paying that mark up.

So the question is really verifying if I have done my research properly - If there are some fantastic cup and cone track hubs out there that I am not aware of, I might well end up buying those over a cartridge hub.

Otherwise its just a utility vs positional good decision on what to buy.
