  • I'm back in Brodie's brewery pub, King William 4th. I swear this must be the best ale I've ever drunk.

  • Atherton, that's near Bolton, they'd need to be cheaper than that.

  • In Wales for new year. Had some of the Purple Moose brews - liked the elderflower (not overly flowery), and brought some of the Dark Side of the Moose (very malty) home with me, after a visit to the brewery. Also really enjoyed the Conwy Brewery Minera Mountain Ale (light and quite hoppy). Even the smallest pubs were serving a couple of proper ales.

  • ^looks good, shame i'll still be warf'd up..

  • Err, so am I. It didn't stop me over xmas though and wouldn't stop me there.

  • Got the stout/porter beer hawk box from my dad for xmas. It contains:

Left Hand - Nitro Milk Stout
    Left Hand - Milk Stout
Left Hand - Black Jack Porter
    Durham - Black Bishop
    Brewdog - Brixton Porter
Black Sheep - Russian Imperial Stout
    Anchor - Porter
The Celt Experience - Dark Age
    Ilkley Black
    Chocolate Marble
De Molen Hamer and Sikkel Porter-ish
Another dutch one which I can't remember the name of, is an oatmeal stout
Siren - Broken Dreams Breakfast Stout
Hitochino Nest - Imperial Espresso Stout
    Nethergate - Old Growler

  • Atherton, that's near Leigh, don't bother.

    Ftfy

  • Leigh does have an awesome garage for old school minis, only reason I ever had for going there, the guy that owns it had this old, ratty 60s mini van with some ridiculous giant engine chucked in, it was stupid fast and you had to shout at each other to be heard.

  • Went Belgian at the Dovetail today:

    Vedett Extra blonde 5%
    Chimay Triple 8%
    Westmalle double 7%
    Chimay cinq cents 8%

All lovely. Tbh I know bugger all about Belgian beer.

  • Love the Dovetail. Get back in and go a bit off piste.

  • does any one go on the beers of europe site ?

Kasteel Brune 11% what a way to finish the day..

  • Yes. They've probably had thousands of my pounds over the years.

  • I drove to the b.o.e. warehouse in (almost) Kings Lynn once.

  • When I worked in Cambridge I took a few of the developers on my team there as a reward for their hard work on a project we'd just finished.

We were like kids in a sweet shop. My car struggled back to the office.

  • Nice reward for the staff, chapeau!

  • Had a wild beer co Yankee sandwich earlier, the peanut butter and chocolate milk stout. Was already great to start with and then followed the advice on the label and added ice cream for a beer float. Amazing.

Will be heading back to sourced market ASAP to pick more up

  • London Fields - Texan Tea. Excellent. Which is surprising as the only other beer of there's I've liked was their double IPA.
