  • BCM will be more visually exciting than WCW and will be, for my money, worth the effort.

  • Only Windsor though? It's a 600 so I could probably ride to the start from home, carry on and still make the checkpoints on time.

  • Is that you telling me I should enter it? :)

  • That depends really. If you like beautiful scenery, riding up hills, well maintained A roads without too much traffic on them then yes, enter it.

  • Friday evening was wonderful as well.

  • National 12hr Champs are a week after PBP.. erm..

  • Have you not won enough?

  • ˄ sportsmanship - winning, then letting others have a go

˅ hippystyle - domination over all teh things

    #tongueincheek

  • I don't think so, I think sportsmanship is not winning at all costs. ie. I'm not going to cheat just to win. That's not sportsmanship.

Winning then letting others have a go sounds like winning then losing to me. :P

hippystyle - I'm just trying to win - I'm not always successful. Anyway, I only raced twice in 2014! I have a few more goals I'd like to have a crack at. Not time for spd sandals just yet.

  • ...ooh, touched a nerve..

    #goteamhippy

    #tongueincheek

  • You'd have to work your way through a lot more layers of fat before you touched a nerve.. :P

  • HHAHAHAHAAAA!!

    wobbles

  • PBP is only every 4 years. You're more likely to get another crack at the 12hr Champs

  • Entered to get my willy warmed on the 17th, will be doing it with a friend who hasn't done much audax before.

I've had a dreadful 2014 in terms of audax, and whilst I'm not looking to go crazy with rides like 2013, I would like to rekindle that love for audax.

@KT_Bee and @Yossarian It was this time last year in the midst of all the flooding we did the poor student! Seems like the weather is giving a nod to 2014 for those doing it tomorrow >.<

  • @KT_Bee and @Skülly sorry (not that you're bothered, I'm sure!) but I can't make the WWW because apparently I'm going to bloody Centre Parcs with the bloody inlaws. I did not agree to this!

  • I am wimping out of Poor Student on those grounds I think. Will hope for a warm willy on 17th.

  • I think I left a big chunk of will-power on the road somewhere near Malmesbury during the Poor Student last year. You and Joel made it doable, but I definitely went to some very dark places. Last year was a bit feeble after that, but am entertaining some plans to do something properly long distance in 2016 so need to get out there this year. Have been off bike for about a month so suspect 200k in 2 weeks time is probably a bit of a step up (though maybe I need to shock myself back into it...?)

  • I think that is wise - there was a picture of me in last year's Arrivee about 60 miles in, cycling along flooded lanes in the freezing rain. You can't tell if I am laughing or crying - am pretty sure I was doing both.

  • It is rare that I behave wisely :-)

In this case though, the chap I was going to ride with is also not really up for the pouring rain tomorrow, and I am not keen enough to go it alone, so we will give it a miss and hope to do the Willy Warmer in a fortnight.

  • I'm still looking at it thinking to myself "it's only rain"...

  • I am half doing that...

  • BCM will be more visually exciting than WCW

    O RLY?

Actually, I think most of these people are on the forum.

  • for all those who've commenced the poor student, chapeau

for all those who've stayed in bed, steve abraham's tears are staining your souls
