Nope, road sets shouldn't need any spacers. I currently run a mtb crankset in a road bb and it fits perfectly without spacers.

I presume it's the BB that's screwed, not allowing the crank to enter fully. I mean a new Road crank, on a 68mm bb shell should not need spacers.

Sorry, my bad - that's for mtb chainset/BB on 68mm shell. 105 HTII BB and chainset = no spacers. Sounds like you need to seat the driveside chainset properly - give it a sharp tap with a mallet.

A few foul words and some abuse later.. Damn thing.

I installed the same group a few weeks ago. Crank was definitely a snug fit, but I twatted it with a mallet and all was well

A mallet is usually required when fitting those external jobbies.

Very interesting read and very helpful. Im in contact with them right now to build me a frame, looking forward to it!. Just wanted to know, since you have two frames build by them, if you would have any suggestions for me when contacting them about specific details for the frames. Just be very detailed when you describe what you want. You're better off giving them too many specifications than too few.

I have some 28mm Panaracer Gravelking tyres i'll use later this spring. Also thinking of getting some pdw guards or similar if i can figure out how to use them together with the forks, or if i might have to get different forks compatible with guards.

The forks I use with guards are the kinesis dc37s or you can get some steel thorn/ surly forks as well

It have a hidden mount under the fork crown which should make it look cleaner.

Why is that fork so porky with carbon steerer?

Wouldn't say 500g is porky though?

Went for a ride today. Surprised how easy it is to shift to the big ring with the longer arm. Very smooth overall.
Also the Clement tyres rubbed the front derailleur so they had to go. Mounted the 28mm Gravelkings. Perfect weather and roads to try them out on. Feels like Paselas but a tad more supple (for what they are).

I've had similar problem with the new 5800 derailleur now being a little too big and got in the way (was fine with 5700) you'll need to rethink about fitting mudguard as the derailleur will get in the way.
