Generally speaking, how decent are Rapha's christmas period sales? Wide range of stock and/or big discounts?

generally good range, and decent discounts

but don't bank on the things you want being in the sale, as i assume generally they look to clear the slower moving stock

If you're after something obscure or an unpopular size, and you're prepared to risk it, you can hang on and you can guarantee there'll be further reductions a couple of weeks into the sale.

really? thats quite a bold bet, although not one I would necessarily want to cash in on. I would have thought pink and yellow would be more popular. Happy to be proved wrong as Id grab a pair of either.

My Christmas present to the guy who reports to me at work was sort of saving his life today when he had a small heart attack and I made him talk to one of the doctors who work in our office because he definitely did not look like he just "had a bit of food poisoning"
