Can't see why not, there's an MTB version as well.

Get an Avid SD7 lever and turn the pull setting to short pull and you'll be good.
And yeah TRP has now come out with a MTB cable disc caliper called Spyke http://www.trpbrakes.com/category.php?productid=1223&catid=184

Anyone run Spyres with flat bar levers (with the correct cable pull...)? Assuming it would work fine...
