36 years untouched in a garage in crystal palace....

Because nobody wanted to?

- 5. Actuator. Possibly.
Definitel not 2 or 3, a bit of 4 (small boost leak) but not enough to see 10 psi vanish.
Nick worked on the car for four hours but could not find the fault.

Ah it's one of those faults. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Have you got a ridiculous dump valve? (I bet you have) that might be sticking open when hot allowing boost to blow past.
-
• #21657
Nope, recirc valve not bov.

• #21658
Turbo Dynamics- anyone used them for a turbo rebuild?

Allegedly owner died, found when the garages are being redeveloped. Still has a paper and the green shield stamps book on the passenger seat.
I like those, swap the kingpins to midget ones to get the brake discs....then the fun begins ;)

Recirc stuck then.
It could cause the issues you have. But I'm not sure why it would happen after an hour of gentle croozing. As you allude to earlier, turbos get hot when they're boosting, not idling.
-
• #21661
Would the re-circ being stuck open limit the boost? I would think the turbine would keep trying to hit target boost, although I guess If the re-circ is big enough it could act like a huge boost leak.
But- the point of a re-circ is not to lose metered air (MAF engine), so it would not explain the running rich.

Is it true that the new Lexus ct200h has Di2 ?
-
• #21663
Is the temperature difference that great?
-
• #21664
Dunno really. Just thinking that temp might affect the waste gate itself rather than the actuator.
Hennyway, sounds like the garage know what they're doing, maybe even better than an Internet forum about bikes.
-
• #21665
Or maybe not.

• #21667
Nice and still getting the engine infront of the front suspension.

6 speed and 340bhp in a roller skate

There are no words that can cope with how awful this idea was.
PS guess the chassis...

I'm saying scimitar, going by the wheels
-
• #21672
yeah the wheels look familiar
gran torino ? -
• #21673
Scimitar it is, v6 too so you win a mince pie next time I see you.
So what was the person thinking who made this, older running gear with a new body? Imo worst of both worlds, especially as the pt body is wider and shorter than the scimitar chassis.
-
• #21674
Is it yours?

Scimitars had power steering? Who knew.
I've been half fancying a Scimitar for a while. I'm imagining one with a 3.0 Jag V6 and 6 speed manual box.
we should place bets.
Who can guesstimate the odds?
