  • damn son!

  • Lovely bike with a promise

  • Best deal ever!

  • Those bolts have a tendecy to get stuck on older Colnago seat stays (B-Stays right?). Threading in a bolt and tapping it gently should eventually loosing it up.

  • Soo lucky

  • well done! looks like navigators team decor

  • i'd get drilled out , wacking with a hammer could potentially loosen the bonded tubes

  • Hold the bolt firmly between some pipe grippers, and get someone else to bash the headtube with a hammer. Should come straight out.

    rear recessed nut

In what way might it help to

bash the headtube with a hammer

  • ^edit
just realised that "rear" could refer to the back of the fork crown.
Even so, bashing crabon with a hammer is sometimes considered questionable advise

  • Sorry I meant to put chisel.

Bash the headtube with a chisel.

  • Please don't bash the headtube with a chisel.

The proper tool is a nun chuck with a nail through it.

  • It is on the rear bridge, tried threading in a nut from behind and tapping it but well and truly stuck. Places have quoted me £50-£70 to get it out which is ridiculous so ordered a right angle chuck and will have a go myself.

    I am not chiseling a c50.

  • Punch it

  • But you are going to put a Tiagra group on it..
This deserves something way better (Ultegra at least..)

  • from what i'm talking about
I found the pinocchio stem, good price, stupid length 130mm.
other bits for the sake of it

  • There is a difference between what it deserves and what its getting! Will start funding this and get some decent kit on in time. Would be stupid not to ride it, already have the tiagra off the old bike so want to get it on the road with minimal cost.

  • Tiagra looks like DA 7700 (and works fine) so it's a win.

  • #OmegaCX554 - brazed by Hulsroy&Gundersen with Columbus Zona tubes - geometry drawed by me. Features a 74 degree head tube, delivering a low trail compared to standard kosher CX geometry - and a weight distribution further to the front. The wheelbase is 99.5cm in current setup. The spacing is 126cm to accomodate 130 and 120 rear hubs.Painting is HD138 the Harley Davidson "Black Pearl". Maybe I'll weight-weenie-wheel-building it down to 8kg (without pedals) if I am up to it , at the moment I'm just riding it real hard to make that low trail flip me around.

  • lush. nice one

  • If tapping the bolt doesn't help, you may want to consider using Finish Line Chill Zone or something similar. It will lower the temperature of the metal bolt and as such make it shrink. I use it a lot as a last resort for stuck parts and it works like a charm.

  • Fork drilled, brake fitted, subtle bar tape applied. Thanks @CleverMike for the work and @spotter for the photo.
