Keep them apart, initially. Careful not to stress the cats out too much, new environment for one and an intruder in the other. Things like get the cats used to each others smell. One trick is to brush the one cat and then not clean the brush and brush the other cat, that way the smells mix.
Or get drugs from the vet to keep both cats stoned/high.
I've just volunteered to cat sit for a friend over the holidays as her arranged one cancelled at the last minute.
I live in a flatshare and there's already an obese, anti-social cat called Penny living here, so am a bit worried about how it will all go down. Both are trained house cats, Miles has been neutered and don't think he's ever met one of his own species. I've met him and he's super social/chilled and is a big hairy bastard who sometimes sports a bow tie.
What's the worst case scenario? Was thinking if they both freak out Miles can just stay in my room but hoping there's no dirty protests in the offing...
