No they don't need a special tyre, but its a good idea.
Yes many can take 120.
DD are fucking expensive, but could be good- I particularly like the Elite Muin.
I suggest the Elite/cyclops Fluid thingy that I use. Its excellent, maybe a little loud, but neither of my flatmates complain when its on.
(doesn't mean I don't want a kickr)
