Also, during my enforced non-riding, I did a weights / costs spreadsheet and I think I could get a repaired bike down to 6.3kg without having to drill anything or buy anything insane. That idea's gone right out of the window now though.
Fuckin' ice.

smart ideas or smart comments?

Cervelo will likely to fit you better compare to the Cannondale.

too late

objectively incorrect, nice try though.

Or:
- Use crash replacement scheme to get brand new frame
- Sell it
- Get custom frame that flatters your back
- Assemble and enjoy
- Use crash replacement scheme to get brand new frame

I don't need a custom frame - the problem with my back is resolving; its a flexibility / core issue at it's centre, not an unsolvable issue that requires going custom.
The SuperSix is basically the frame I need - fits perfectly and has enough spacer stack at present to accommodate my increasing flexibility. The problem at present is getting it rideable / replaced.

Very few people need a custom frame.

But being able to easily fix the damage you've done is actually a great reason to have a steel frame, that said.

I'm not buying a custom Talbot!

I never suggested such a thing, how very dare you!

Sorry to hear about the crash - surprises me that the frame went before the hanger :(
Or, looking closer at the pic, with the hanger.

The first time I took my Oak out on a proper ride I got knocked off by the wind while going round a tiny roundabout. Bend the derailleur hanger but luckily I spec'd a replaceable one so a few days and 7 Euros later it was good as new (apart from the gouge in the derailleur).

lucky you 😒

Use the crash replacement scheme to get you a frame ASAP?
Not sure there is a sensible alternative. You could buy a Ribble and throw the parts on if Cannondale can't get you a frame quick.
And next winter, do your training on a bike2. Talbots are nice ;-)

I ripped my dropout in half last year. Fixed it myself.... Was pretty easy to be honest.

I was tempted to ask Carbon Bike Repairs to do my drop-out and either repaint the frame or prime it and ship it to you anyway @hoops, but if you want to do the drop-out too!
CBR did this, apparently the decal is invisible when not reflecting...

I'm not offering carbon repair services I'm afraid!
I fine with repairing my own stuff, and everything I've repaired has held up fine.... But I don't want to getting into being responsible for repair work on someone else's bike.... That's a whole different ball game! -

That's understandable! Would still be interested in getting a Hoops pro paintscheme, depending on the cost of this repair.

shit news!
FM066 in the mean time? You'd achieve the weight target, aesthetic customisation with fast turnaround and not mega bucks. Can be ready for Festive 500 if you act fast .. I have a 50cm FM066 you are welcome to try for size. 381mm reach and 519.4mm stack which is about an in between of 50 and 52 of supersix. They also do a 48cm version with 372mm reach and 513mm stack.

Nah, I've been chatting to some people who might be able to source a SuperSIX Hi-Mod in 48 at trade as a crash replacement, so that's gunna be my focus for now. No doubt the FM066 would fulfil all my needs, but considering how rubbish this year has been for loosing weeks riding to back pain, I'm very hesitant to leave a frame that I know works.
@sensom between @amey and @dammit, all the reps are coming out in this thread. Unfortunately I'm 'dale 'til I die, or until I can get an custom frame at a better weight and with objective aerodynamic improvements.

CBS claim it wouldn't be safe to repair the damage
fuuuuckkkk saaaaaake.
Come on CBR, I'm counting on you buddy.
So - this project completely faded away as the problems with my back have worsened and worsened. Luckily, after some amazing work from my Physio*, lots of stretching, pilates and testing stuff out, last month I got to a point where I could ride 100km without pain in my lower back.
I've been getting some kilometers back in, getting my legs back up to shape and trying to wrestle my heartrate back down to normal so I could ride the Festive 500 - something I'd loosely targeted as an end-of-year goal, as I failed the last one due to aforementioned back problems.
However, in the midst of all those good vibes, on Saturday I stacked it like a sack of shit on the iec in Epping, and this happened: Derailleur hanger didn't snap, took a chunk of the drop-out with it.
Luckily, I'm fine, all the parts are fine and the damage is minimal.
-
So I'm now considering my options:
There's a 48cm SuperSix (not an EVO model) on eBay, which would at least get me riding for the Festive 500, but it's about £500 and it seems rash to instantly buy a replacement. There was also a 48cm Cervelo on eBay, so frame of this size aren't the rarest.
Some mates are trying to talk me in to getting a tiny Caad10, or parting all the bits over to a winter bike, but I'm not sold on the idea.
I've emailed some carbon repair places: CBS in Derbyshite (gets a good rep on here) and Carbon Bike Repair in Surrey**. Dammit has also mentioned @vavas of this shire, although I'm yet to get in touch.
I've be on the blower to CSG on Monday to talk about their crash replacement program, and what they've got hanging around the warehouse...
Anyone else got any smart ideas?
