Does anyone have a decent method of mounting the battery packs for eBay special lights on road bikes?
Specifically the 'Solarstrom X2' but they're all similar afaik. Are there any separate mounts you can get? Being able to easily move between bikes would be preferable. Cheers

Stuff the battery in an old water bottle, cut a cross in the bottom of the bottle to get it in, feed the cable thru the top and seal with self vulcanising tape.
Or get a wide neck bottle like this and do similar, no need to cut the bottom.

@MichaelG I'm using a toppeak tribag to hold 2 batteries and some other little stuff(patches, multitool). I moved it onto the downtube and around the headtube instead of on the top tube and it doesn't fall over like it did before. Unsure how waterproof but no issues since the clocks went back.

Lezyne Energy Caddy is neat of you can fit one in there.

Or use Sugru to seal it up.

Any recommendations on a rear light? Maybe an ebay special?
Currently have a knog blinder (44 lumens) on my seat post and a cheap knog on my high vis bag cover. Looking to up my game.

I've got two of these for early winter morning commute down the river lea in almost complete darkness
Cheap, van driver-intimidating lumens and great customer service. Highly recommended.

If anyone is after Lezyne stuff then there's a sale at SportPursuit at the moment with Mega for £100 and Deca (loaded) for £100. Far cheaper than anywhere else. I've just ordered a mega after a planned country lane ride last night saw me turning back when I realised my Smart front light was about as much use as a candle at any sort of pace.
You can earn me a fiver if you use my referral as well, which would be nice at this time of year.
I've bought from then before without issue, and this is one of their rare 'actually cheaper than anywhere else for good quality things' sales.

Edit: I didn't realise that there was a SP veto here, but as this is a rare good price from them then I'm going to chance it. Please delete if it's a problem mr/ms moderator.

Just bought my GF a new rear as her old Cateye + Lezyne Femto drive combo isn't really doing enough IMO.
Got her a Lezyne Zecto, I'm a fan of the Hope District 3, well, the layout of three lights in a large shell. IMO a rear light isn't about ultimate brightness, but getting a nice wide spread of light with as much side visibility as possible without being dazzling.
For £20 (from £30) I think its pretty good. Means I can get my Comet back off her aswell! -

I bought an Exposure Spark, used it for one week and then it stopped working and the batteries wouldnt charge. I sent it off for repair. It turns out that the batteries had leaked acid inside and destroyed the circuit board.
I got the repaired light back yesterday with new batteries, used it last night and today (in the rain) and now even when I turn it off the light stays on, dims but stays on unless I remove the battery cover.
I know a lot of people like Exposure but I'm not having a great first experience. I think i'll stick to Lezyne* from now on.
*my Lezyne Macro is also loads brighter than my Exposure Spark.

It seems like the all-in-one Exposure units have the edge over those with replaceable batteries.

I'm guessing some water has found its way inside. It is particularly wet outside today, but the battery cover was on tight. I guess I'll have to stick some tape around it to try and stop that happening in the future.

Yes, @andy_k is right. My Flash / Flare set have been slowly giving up the ghost. Replaced them with a Diablo / TraceR set which (for about 2 months) have been totally flawless.

Saw a guy with a set of revolights the other night, surprisingly effective at making him really conspicuous. Fuck that price though, and the construction, does anyone still sell those Ledus lights? I UTFS for them, but no results.

Are they not making them anymore then? I have a mini, but can't bring myself to use it on the mean streets of York. Saving it for the dun run though, not selling!

The website always says sold out when I check it, I'll drop them an email.

I bought mine during the first run, I think; so quite a while ago.
They are dead good if you can get your hands on them, it'll be a shame if they're not making them anymore. Possibly just not a big enough market to justify another run. -

Anyone have Exposure front light bracket they want rid of?
I find it amazing people ride with only one front and one rear light. Tonight one of my rear lights decided to stop working. Thankfully I had a backup and could safely ride the 10 miles home.
