I've only ever not finished reading two books, and there is something inherently bloody minded about struggling through a book you absolutely hate, and in the old days carrying it with you, which maybe reading on a kindle has dissipated...
Kobo speculated that it “likely proved daunting for some due to the length of the novel”.
Or, like Tartt's other books, it's a bit dull.
Maybe it could be tartted up a little.
