What don't you like about the oxygen? just bought one and am quite impressed so far, one of the least boil-in-the bag jackets ive had
-
• #828
The cuffs system bugged me. And the cut is a bit weird on me. It's a good jacket, just for £150 it's got a few flaws. But if I can't find something better I'll get it.

Too true. I am tired of the leaks and I dont want to walk around looking like an escapee from a gay spandex factory. I think I have come to a point where changes are needed

Try the mavic hc h2o in red. Quite nice and well thought out. Pretty sure that's gore tex pro?
-
• #831
The gore oxygen is weird fitting if you have any kind of shoulders and chest.
-
• #832
Gay spandex sounds cool, I might get one

I doubt this is the ultimate but the medium fit is perfect on me.
Use it all year round with a merino base layer when it gets cold.

Void have some new Softshell jackets for sale. Not sure about the quality but have to give them a shout. http://www.voidcycling.com
Edit: Removed from the site now. Guess i got a sneak peak.

I've got the path jacket and even though fit is great, it's proper boil in the bag. It's better than no jacket if it's pissing down, and very good at keeping the chill out with a base layer or so underneath, but I'm always soaked from sweat in it after a ride.

Gore Tex Pro Shell does what you want.
Fully waterproof. And the most breathable truly waterproof jacket I have tried. Definitely more so than the Rapha softshell I have. It's just an outer layer so packs down pretty small, about the size of a 750ml waterbottle. Is also really tough and not flimsy feeling like the lighter Pertex and similar fabrics can feel. Totally windproof too so it does afford a very good amount of protection and warmth given it's relatively light weight and small pack size.
I have a Berghaus one like on the link below. I have had it for 3 years and it gets very well used, and is working perfectly. No rips or coming apart, and faultless in terms of waterproofing.
It's not a bike specific jacket and so not form fitting, but I find this a bonus as you can layer up underneath it as necessary, and a more relaxed fit make it more breathable too.
I shopped around and got mine for £180 I think. Not cheap but worth every penny.

I find it fine for 3 seasons. If I get hot then normally I don't need a jacket.
Guess its down to personal climates :)

?
Slightly more relaxed fit to the oxygen which i find fits pretty weird aswell. -
• #839
Yeah Shout, however that's like the path jacket I have. More relaxed fit. But no drop tail or elastix sleeves.

@skinny- I assume this is for the cross continent and training?
Maybe rattle an email off to Godfrey (http://godfrey.co.uk/product/black-rainbow-cycling-jacket-ls-fullzip-gsbreeze) about some sponsorship?
Their stuff is excellent, they'll custom cut to your size as well, the waterproof-ish jackets are great. -

Has to be hi vis.
It's a law requirement at night in France. And I don't want to get run over!
I saw a guy the other night in a full 3M jacket, that stuck out like a sore thumb! -
• #842
see a lot of runners in those full 3m jackets and they are pretty great, apparently they can get quite fucked up pretty easy though, especially when rained on
-
• #843
Yanto y u no make Fluro?
Looks like one hell of a rain jacket, eVent too!

disposable gilet that you can throw away after leaving France?
-
• #845
It's not just about France. Fuck te law.
It's more about not being run over. Hi viz does make a big difference to being seen in dark or low light. So I want to wear it from now really. Ninja is 2014! -
• #846
It's a shame that Proviz doesn't have quite a race fit;

Sugoi Zap?

Polyester = no.
But otherwise good jacket. -
• #850
Nah during 24 it's just about aero. Just wear skinsuit.
FYI Evans sell this;
http://www.bontrager.com/model/11341Ticks all the boxes and not that pricey. Will try a castelli muur too.
Anyone seen.
Hi-Vis
Waterproof. (goretex/e-vent)
Tighter fitting.
Dropped rear hem to cover arse.
Elasticated cuffs would be good. Like on rapha rain jacket.
No gabba, or gore oxygen. Gabba isn't goretex/e-vent. Gore oxygen isn't very nice.
