Will need a fast, auto focussing Nikon 50mm lens next year.
Been reading a lot about the new G lenses; very tempted by the 50/1.4, though they say focus is slow.
So I tried both the 1.4G and the 1.8G in a shop today, - 1.4 was so slow I thought it's broken, 1.8 was a bit better, but still pretty disappointing (like - noticeably slower than the Canon 85/1.8 I had with me). Meh.
Does anybody on here have comparison between the new G's, and the old (screw-type focus) AF-S's?
