Also if you dislike their music that much - drop them or let them drop you, simple.

Hi @Ratty. @Crop's right, that's me.
Sorry you don't like the music and I'm happy to turn it down closer to London Bridge. It was still on loud mode for OKR and I forgot to turn it down.I'm afraid I won't turn it off though. I quite like playing music occasionally because it makes my commute a little cheerier. I'm not doing it to grab your attention I promise.
If you don't like the music I like that's unfortunate but I'm sure you can bear it for maybe half a minute. Perhaps tomorrow it'll be One Direction at @edscoble's request :)

Meta spot, I like it!

In the context of traffic and city noise I find music, even music I am not particularly fond of, to be one of the more pleasant irritants.
And as Crop says, you probably won't be forced to listen for long.

Chung's backpack music always brings sunshine to my commute. A minute of cheery cheesy pop won't do that much harm, surely? And what about all the motorised traffic noise? Should we stamp that out? Actually, now I mention it...

Backpacker music players, ruining the lovely noise of revving engines and roadworks, how dare they!

Surely the answer to noise isn't more noise?

I'll stick it on the playlist. You can have a bad sing-a-long to Sex Bomb by Tom Jones by Chung.

@crowbar were you the tall fella wearing a rapha top at the same crossing as Hats? You looked familiar have I seen you at the velodrome of a saturday?
@TW I've been loud all of my life, and part of my growing up has been to be quieter for those who feel irritated, upset by my volume. This does irk me occasionally and sometimes causes me to dig in my heels and stubbornly refuse to amend my behaviour. It also means that in our society of give and take, what do you silent types give back to me, when you take away my natural inclination to be loud?
-
• #68970
you silent types
Who?
give back to me
Conditional sociopath much?

@Ratty if you were in a confined space, say a tube carriage, train, plane, with no means of escape, I can understand and/or agree with you, but you are on a bike, with many alternative routes and the knowledge that whoever is disturbing you will be gone in a few seconds or you can slow down, speed up, change direction to make the music/noise go away..

In others words, guys, buy ear plugs, change route, stop and let it go, don't watch, get a pill anti anal retention, use drugs, inflict yourself pain, don't kill yourself, be polite on habits of others, die and let live, say thanks to music producers, but most importantly shut the fuck up and be silent if you don't want to be beaten too.
BINGO!
