Chap in a forum cap this morning on a pink fixed coming up to London Bridge. Can you turn that music off that was blaring out of your backpack at 100 decibels. No one wants to listen to your terrible music at 8am. Really cannot bear these "look at me, look at me, look at me" types.

Well someone is a bit grumpy in the morning.

On a more cheery note, I saw @cornelius_blackfoot this morning, waves were exchanged. I kicked myself 5 mins later when I realised I should have shouted "do a karaoke!" at him.

bit late to flag, but Saturday around 1:30pm Fulham road. had brief exchanges and pleasantries whilst enjoying the sunshine with a chap on a beautiful Colnago track bike. Peace!

Well I for one think if he wants to listen to music then let him. I'd rather he blared it out from his backpack than see another earphone wearing retard cyclist.

You could make a case that having music 'blaring out' from an unknown source is more of a safety issue than someone wearing headphones, as it causes other people to look around to see what the source is (usually expecting to see a souped up hot hatch) rather than concentrate on what they are doing.
Either way, it's anti-social.

@hats, @Ratty, seeing as how there's such a brouhaha around cyclists wearing headphones whilst riding, it would seem the obvious solution is to play music out of speakers, have a friend who rides with a speaker attached to his shoulder strap. Just because you don't like their taste in music and one person's shitty is another person's amazing, doesn't mean they should make allowances for you, what allowances are you making for them?
on a happier note, @hats clapham south was my first spot on the porteur, you looked suspiciously like you were running to work? And I would never respond to do a karaoke...

Spotted @hats spotting @cornelius_blackfoot at clapham south this morning. Meta-spotting ..

In the rain this morning, a maroon Charge Plug with orange rims, no: brakes, foot retention, bar tape, non-leathery soled boots, at the lights on Clerkenwell x Farringdon Rd. I was too nervous to look behind and check if he made it up the hill. Slippin' and a slidin' surely...

Morning! Was getting used to the rain and everything was a bit blurry, DAS was unexpected.

This.
No difference to kids blaring out One Direction from their Micra's steroid with windows wide open.

@cornelius_blackfoot - clearly the 'allowance' I am making for others is not forcing loud music that may not be to their taste upon them. It's a very simple matter of common decency. I totally agree that choppers wobbling around with headphones in is bloody annoying, but I'm sure people could manage to get from A to B on their commute without music.
@edscoble - precisely. -

Lot's of sticks up many butts.

Anyone who plays music so loudly that it's inflicted on other people is a dick. I don't care if you're in a car/on a bike/on a bus, or what type of music it is. If you want to listen to music then go right ahead, but why should everyone else have to listen to it? I'm making allowances for them by not forcing my music on them, I'd like the same courtesy please.
Erm, basically, what @Ratty said. -

You're kidding, right?
[Edit]
I mean - really - Are you having a laugh?

Who needs a bell when you have backpack speakers.
