Had a similar issue with my Moon Comet, strangely the front rather than the back one. In (off) mode it would be lit up, and then switching it on would simply make it brighter. This happened after a 3 hour ride in moderate drizzle
Did this for a few days and then seemed to stop - I think it's alright now, but will either tape up USB port or simply leave at home during the next rainy ride.
