  • Preventing what?

  • @snottyotter it prevents helmetless riders reaching destinations when they expected too, it's just a nice way to harass someone who hasn't done anything wrong and make them late.

  • Police on High Holborn this morning, stopping people for the red coming out of Proctor Street.

In related news, I can no longer afford to eat this week.

  • Chinese Embassy, Portland Place W1 heading North
(I realise I have just triggered a GCHQ alert)

If you head North towards Regent's Park (away from the BBC) the light turn red before traffic crosses you. A number of cyclists take this red.

The police (sometimes multiple) outside the embassy have very little to do and will happily pull you if you take this red as the embassy is after the crossing. All they need to do is know the sequence. I recommend that you walk across if you know the light sequence.

  • Police seem to have set-up some kind of raised guard tower at the bottom of Tottenham Court Road; couldn't tell what the branding said on the side of it so not sure whether it's cyclist related or not but they now have a nice high viewing spot looking over both directions of oxford street.

  • RLJ ticket. Junction of The Mall and Marlborough Road this evening. They said they were assigned to look after the Royal Parks - I got the impression that they'd be around the area for a little while.

There were only two of them and they said that they wouldn't be able to get you if you just didn't stop. Make of that what you will.

  • Did you ask them how many cyclist did they fine for speeding?

  • Watch yourselves on Ludgate, they are "enforcing" the law in regards to cyclists.

  • Pretend police stop cyclist who is cycling on a promoted cycle route in Reading. See how many times they struggle to find reasons for stopping him:-

  • Last time I walked down there I was on shrooms, I no get stopped.

  • Ha! What a fucking joke. Love how a fucking truck drives past as they force the poor bloke to walk. Waste of high viz.

  • I enjoyed the lorry that turned right (into the bit where he wasn't allowed to cycle). Cyclists are, after all, more dangerous than lorries.

  • that night course they went on to get their plastic plod hat was clearly worth every penny.

  • I liked that - walk through there every day. The cycling infrastructure in the town is a joke so I wouldn't be surprised if the council had asked the plastics to stop cyclists on a road.

  • My advice RE: PCSOs.

Chant "You're just a grass in a fancy hat", increasing in volume with each repetition. Raise both fingers and cycle away.

  • Thought I'd dredge this thread up - I saw the police pull this guy over near Mansion House tube and have a word with the chap in the picture for RLJ-ing - I came out and there was the car and a van so that escalated quickly. Probably being arrested for inappropriate footwear - crocs are a definite no
