Thanks for the replies! @miro_o I can fit a thin silk liner but nothing thicker without my fingers going numb from lack of blood rather than the cold.
@andy_k I think that's probably the key - massive gloves to give my hands space to move/space for moar gloves.
@TW You're a lobster. @Hovis I am the same, I feel like there's nothing that will keep my hands warm enough when riding :(
Yeah, the mitts I was using have room for icebreaker liners and defeet dura gloves and there's still space. Downside is, it's a pretty terrible when you have to do anything (doors, locks, scratching your nose etc.)
When I was touring I learnt to unlock my phone with my nose as the thought of trying to peel soggy neoprene back onto my shrivelled (and smelly) hands was too grim.
