Going down the descent into Golders, riding in the middle of the lane to discourage passing on a blind s-curve, I get passed very closely by some knob in an audi going well over the speed limit (verified this with my GPS data). When I catch up to him at the next set of lights I say that was a dangerous thing to do and he just scoffs. I tell him to go fuck himself and he responds in kind. As he starts to drive off he slams on his breaks so I hit his rear bumper (kind of a weird way to get back at me) and then he drives off as fast as he can, like a complete wimp.

Have you reported them for driving away from an accident?
-
• #5430
Please tell me you got his plate.
-
• #5431
Yep, I reported him, it's quite a busy intersection and right in front of the bus depot so hopefully there are cameras. I'm only sure about the first four digits, but I also got a good look at the driver and the make/model of his car
Why are people such assholes? Would it really have been so hard to say sorry?

• #5432
Glad you're ok. Was it the decent from Hampstead into Golders green?
-
• #5433
Yeah, that's the one via North End Way
-
• #5434
Real glad you got his detail, the police should at least have a look at this as it's classified as a hit and run.

Why are people such assholes?
Because we ride a bicycle and deserve to die according to everyone.
Almost got assaulted, again, by someone driving an possibly fake regs.
Really shouldn't have follow him into Halfords, but need the plate to report to roadsafe.
edit - found it, it's HJ02OYD WHITE, 2002 ISUZU TRUCKS NKR 77 TURBO ELECTRIC DI FLAT LORRY
Don't know why they have to make the number 0 look exactly like the letter o.

That one is a right love/hate piece of tarmac. The blind turn is already sketchy without someone bearing down on you. What gives some drivers the impression that they should overtake anywhere on there is beyond me. You can pick up decent speeds heading down, so any overtaking means they've shredded the limit to pieces.

The second people get around the littlest bit of greenery they immediately think they're out in the country. Not only is that a tricky place for cyclists, but there's a crosswalk immediately after it and after that a school and a popular park/zoo. It's really dangerous to floor it there

In the minutes before the crash Lederman’s Mercedes was seen revving loudly for up to ten seconds as it sat stationary outside West Hampstead Underground Station.
Investigators found he had mistakenly kept his foot on the car’s accelerator when he thought it was the brake before careering off, the court heard.

"Lederman, who has been excused from attending the trial on health grounds, denies causing death by dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm."
FFS. 83, failing eye sight, recovering from a stroke, and you deem yourself (and your family and friends deem you) to be fine to drive.
Yet the moment you have to answer for your actions and suddenly you're too ill to sit in a court room.

mistakenly.
Like everyone else, they "mistakenly" drive aggressively and act all surprised when it cause fatalities.

I'm confused, I was under the impression that it was cyclist killing people on pavement not tons of armored mobility scooter.

Having caught up on the last half a dozen pages, I can only say that I'm relieved I no longer live in London.
Was passed too close the other day and I gave them my preferred gesture: a sweeping motion from left to right.
The driver waved and briefly pulled towards the centreline, indicating he understood what I meant.
In London, I'd have been stabbed/run over/cock-punched by all accounts.

Yes, but in London there is a restaurant that sells only cereal and there isn't one of those in Sudbury or Eye.
6 and 2 3s really.

Thanks for the update, spindrift. Such a horrific crash.

Well, when you put it like that...

Tragic and avoidable. The driver was found guilty on Wednesday:

I totally will go to roadsafe, but wondered if anyone could help with checking the reg plate first. A minicab driver with anger management issues just tried to force me into the gutter on Brixton road trying to push between me and another row of traffic, swore at me and told me he'd 'do it again' when I asked him what he was doing - and then tried to do it again. Pretty sure numberplate was RE08OJO or RE08OJD, and it was a silver saloon. Won't come up when I check TFL minicab reg, though. So, so angry.

And tried for two years to delay the case being heard:
It can now be revealed that the 85-year-old’s defence team launched multiple appeals to dismiss the charges on medical grounds, claiming that he had suffered an “episode” and could not be held responsible for his actions. When the appeal failed two doctors testified that it was “unfair” to try an elderly man who was suffering mental health problems as a result of the accident. But Judge Peter Clarke QC warned the team that they were “holding a gun to the court’s head saying ‘don’t you dare tip him over’” and allowed the case to go ahead citing the public interest.
That's incredible, scumbags. Fingers crossed.
