The thing is the world of hand built wheels has changed a lot over the past 5 years or so. It went from low cost, high mileage wheels for hard core PBP audaxers, tandem riders and tourers to very expensive high end light wheels for race bikers and posers... the result is that the average rim is 50-100 pounds, rather than 20-40... Open PRO used to be high end sunday best, now it's grim weather commuting at best... folks use 500 quid wheels in winter and 2 grand wheels in summer, while just a few years back a pair of Ksyrium were considered a luxury to keep for the Marmotte and a couple of other events only. In this market, Rigida 20 quid rims look a bit out of tune with people's expectations... in fact even Ryde have come out with a range of expensive light rims
That's what I figured.
I guess I'll have to stump-up for one from Spa.
Curious that stock seems to have dried-up, as Ryde still list them on their site.
