For next season I am hoping Alonso's move was as enlightened as Lewis', and that Vettel is constantly outshone by Kimi. I just have a feeling that Honda will be up there in the power stakes, and that Ferrari still will not have cracked the formula........for a successful smaller engine/PU.

Here's an idea.......who's with me?
If some smaller teams were to not keep up with the others, then how about bringing back the name Alfa-Romeo to F1? Of course, being part of Ferrari they'd use the same engine, and some of the same financial backing.
Ok, so maybe they'd be a bit of the poorer cousin to Ferrari, but it would bring back some history, and would be unlikely to fold.
And Volkswagen need to be convinced to join. They would have the choice of running any of their more sporting marque's - Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini or VW as it's own race brand.

Yeah. Make it happen. What's your first step?
Oh.

Finally, Red Bull have been penalised for illegal front wings. Excluded from Qualifying.

Bit late though. Plenty of people have known they've been doing this for a fair old while now. I'm surprised it's taken this long. Last race of the season? Ha.

Should be pretty straight forward for Lewis tomorrow. All he has to do is keep calm and finish behind Rosberg. He should easily be able to control the race from 2nd as Rosberg won't be battling to get in front of him. If he does over take him, bonus.

Looks like Kimi is getting to terms better with the Ferrari. I wonder who Ferrari will favour for the overall balance of their car, Kimi or Seb?

^^lewis should give Rosberg a cheery wave as they brake for each corner, and calmly follow him around the track until he cracks and out brakes himself.

There was a rumour years ago that Porsche had tried to get into Formula 1. They'd designed and built an engine and ran it in an generic chassis. It was mothballed because they realised just how far behind everyone they'd be.
VW would have no interest whatsoever allowing any of the VAG companies to participate in F1 based purely on the cost. Look at all the hoo-ha VW had developing the Veyron. They made a catastrophic loss on each one and supplied substandard to all their cars for 5 years - all to prove a point.

So what you're saying is that if the RB had the Merc PU, then we'd have seen a significantly different outcome?

• #4544
That sounds about right to me.

rosberg losing power?
Mercedes look a long way ahead of the rest - the Red Bull looks pretty good, but the both the Lotus cars looked like they were cooking their brakes. Two laps in and the discs were orange.
Looking forward to FP2 and Qualifying tomorrow.
Should have another forumenger in tow tomorrow too.
