Haha thanks man. I've emailed him but think he's on crack wanting so much money for them. Pretty much last part of the puzzle now!

It's designed for something that Ed is well-versed in: awkward sit bones.

Rims delivered. Hefty loads of ancient rim glue all over them though. Anyone have good suggestions how to clean it off?

acetone

Cheers, what I was thinking as the first port of call. It's gonna need some soaking!

So called all the big frame builders and no one will extend the steerer tube by a few mm's even though it's just to provide a bit more thread for the HS top cap.. May just have to run it as is or put in a spacer type thing..
Still cleaning rims..
Think I've found some Cinelli NJS handlebars.. -

I had headset hassle on my 1982 3Rensho, a Tange Prestige fitted perfectly. Turns out that was Mr. Konnos' preffered brand.

you could ream a mm or so from the headtube if that wouldnt be sacrilege..
instead of bringing mohammed to the mountain, bring the mountain to mohammed.. -

..or put the original headset back on, there is no room for the tab washer with that campag headset and it will be forever coming undone.

the spacer makes no sense. The exposed area isn't going to cause any trouble. It's a matter of whether you can get the top one tight enough without stripping it from the fork.
In my view the best option is to put it on and tighten it less than you'd normally want to... and see if it comes loose. I would not ruin the headset in an effort to get it as tight as you'd like.
At any rate, the only two bad outcomes are a ruined headset in the shop or it rattling loose on the street. There is no "danger".
i would not machine the fork at the crown where the lower race sits, but it is an option as mentioned above ^^. I am not a fan of altering geometry if even by a few mm. Will the bike still ride? yes of course. But it can feel different. A distant concern is bringing the wheel too close to the downtube, but this is probably not an issue.

Thanks for the above advice folks, much appreciated. After the NY I'll be looking into all the options.
For now the puzzle is pretty much complete.....

Haha I know. Literally the first cinelli NJS bars I've seen in all that time. Had someone offer me some once but I could've bought a whole new fleet of bikes for that price.
Can't wait to get this built, going to be after the NY though that it all gets moving.. -

Hats off for the dedication fella!

You'll need to keep an eye on the eyelets, those rims aren't the strongest and they tend to pull away under high tension. Are they 32 holes and not the 36 njs marked version?
-
• #99
^^ Ah mate! You can't throw that in the mix ;)! Going on the ridiculously rare there are one or two cinelli NJS saddles in existence and also 3rensho stamped tubs..
^ MG, it's the 36h NJS rims. Do you have any experience with either or? Thanks! -

were campagnolo sigma keirin rims njs approved?
im guessing they were but ive never seen any :-(
Buy --> cry from lack of $$$ --> de-build --> rebuild tita-ace rims --> sell old hubs.

Edit: or I suppose, you could just make him an offer on the rims.
