STUART BIRNIE TAKES IT!
Had it not been for hellish winds that did their best to sweep riders off the course in the
waning hours of the 2014 24 Hour World TT Championship, Stuart Birnie likely would have
broken the 500 mile mark here in Borrego Springs, California. As it was he did manage to cover
493 miles at an average 21.5 mph to take the age 30-39 category win and the overall male
win as well.

Congratulations Stuart! We hope that your victory here was a step toward our seeing you in
Oceanside next June.

I was at ESCA when Wilko rode his 541mi. Mental. I was aiming for it here but the nature of the course and then the wind meant no chance. Final distance was 497 but they don't count incomplete final laps so I didn't even get near my PB. Still, nice bonus for a pretty crap year racing
