It can be done, but the holes in the hub are out by 10° on one side (or +5° one side and -5° the other). If you lace it radially, there will be an embedded torsion in the hub shell due to the spokes not being truly radial. If you lace a cross pattern, you will need different length spokes even if the spokes would all be one length for 36-spoke lacing. In any case, calculating the correct spoke lengths will be a bit more complicated than for normal builds.
If you have a 18hole rim and a 36hole hub, will that lace okay? Or will it not work?
