  • Oh, I get it now. :) But as I said its not particularly hard to utilize the full amount of BB drop.

Its not that rockers and sliding dropouts aren't possible on Alu and carbon. There is just very few framebuilders that utilize it because it adds cost, complications and a little weight, and if you choose to ride with gears its redundant.
An EBB is an add-on. You buy it seperately. The owner chooses to ride SS and its out of the hands of the framebuilders. Much easier for everyone.

  • An EBB is an add-on

If you mean a Phil Wood or Exzentriker, then yes.

    Traditionally, no.

  • Had a go as well

  • That's hot! Well done mate

  • There are multiple options for BB30 and PF30 frames (of which there are plenty).
Niner Biocentric (PF30), BEER Components (BB30), Problem Solvers (PF30) and Wheels Manufacturing (BB30 and PF30).
You'll have to make do with 24mm spindles but thats not really an issue.

A good hard look in this thread will reveal that that is one of the most common solutions when a EBB is used for CX bikes.

  • Uhhh if you choose the FSA SLK light 868 bb you can get 30mm axel for BSA cups. True story..

  • The adaptors already have 24mm ID bearings in them ;)

  • I see...

  • The trad bar pointing up look...

    weak.

  • Jog on to the porn thread for that kind of thing please.

  • @miro_o fuck that

  • Light cranks, boat anchor fork.

  • 30mm >>>>>

24mm is a perfectly good standard, at least GXP is adaptable!

  • ^ Yes yes yes!

  • Yes for me.

  • Very, very nice man. Awesome job.

How does it ride on the street or is this a strictly a mud and shit affair?

Also, what disc system are you using?

  • Pretty happy to be riding SS this weekend.

  • Hope you poured out all the water that entered your frame though the unplugged bottle cage boss?

  • Boltheads hurt my elbows so I usually use small pieces of tape. Must have given up.

Even then, water doesn't really collect in the frame unless I throw it in a lake.
