  • If the rails are oval then they're only safely clamped from above and below, rather than the type of side-on clamp used on that 3t seatpost.

  • I understand all this, but when Ed said
    "doesn't SMP advise against compression seatpost"
    and i said
    "as opposed to holding the rails with magnets?"
    I was just joking that wichever way you clamp the saddle it's still compression.

    you know when you realise you've made a bad joke because you spend so much time explaining it....
