Cool, I was interested in doing it because there aren't a whole lot of hills here in the Netherlands. And because I like the clean look / weight savings / simplicity, not worth the cost if I'd need a narrow / wide ring but I'll give it a go. Cheers
Yep it will be fine. Just make sure you get a chainring designed for single speed use and it should be fine. Mind you, this was all on a 9 speed setup. Could be an issue for say 11speed which use a wider cassette
